This concept is a repetition of the concept of moving away to London. I got inspired by the piece I’ve made of portals. But in this case, I did the reverse of location - I did one from the “art department” In Woodbridge on the other side of the portal is Covent Garden.
Making this piece also represents the idea of me moving away to the bigger world. I asked the model to look back at the camera as if they were looking at the past one last time before walking away to the brave new world for them to explore. I chose to explore a warmer color for the portal because I think the warmer color is usually associated with positive feelings. The most challenging part of creating this piece is the lighting since I don’t want to make it look too unnatural. I also made this piece with a mouse since I think it saves time compared to using a WACOM board. Although by using that I lost the pen pressure mode on Photoshop which could’ve benefited my work even more.
